Logan Hone has a vibrant and engaging style of teaching music with a focus on enabling students by demystifying composition, improvisation, and playing within an ensemble. He has taught private lessons, elementary music, and has taught workshops at colleges and high schools around the western US.

In March 2017, Logan did a 4 day Teaching Artist Residency at University of Reno, where he led two ensembles which rehearsed and performed a concert of original music, performed a solo concert, and taught private lessons.

Logan also leads a Community Band in Los Angeles that is open to all skill levels, especially beginners. The group explores various ways of music making utilizing collective and individual mindsets, traditional and nontraditional notation, guided improvisation, and shifting instrumentations.

From the start, Logan's natural charisma and positive energy creates an atmosphere of total freedom and inclusion of all people involved. No matter one's instrument, musical background or training, he managed to bring the group together. His contagious passion for music instantly drew me in and dispelled all fears of wrong notes as if they didn't exist. Coming from a classical background, this fearless music-making process was exhilarating and liberating. Logan pulls creativity from his students, encouraging experimentation and fresh sounds on one's instrument. I felt lucky to be a part of Logan Hone's UNR workshops, and would recommend anyone to expand their musical experience through working with him!

Overall, this group really opened me up to a whole new world of music and entertainment by creating an atmosphere of incredible, sophisticated art while still being relatable and fun.
