May 2021 Community Recording Project

This project is finished. Listen to what we made!

Here is the project page we used:
Hello!

This month, Community Band is making an original feel-good instrumental song that sounds like a joyful parade!

Each musician will create a unique part over a provided song framework. Everyone will record their part and submit it to be mixed into the group recording.

You are invited to participate in this recording project!

Email me at loganhone@gmail.com to tell me what instrument you want to play and we will work out your part.

There will be 2 Zoom meetings for this project.

May 5: an introduction to the month’s song & answering any questions (6-6:45pm)

May 19: listening session and reflection (6-6:30pm)

RSVP to get the Zoom links here: https://linktr.ee/artintheparkla

If you can't make one or both of the meetings, you can still submit a recording!

Goal of this song:

1. Make a song that sounds like a joyful parade. There isn't only one melody in this song. Everyone plays their own melodies and rhythms that are unique! The harmony and unity is achieved by agreeing that this is a joyful song. :)

2. Everyone makes up something to play that they think sounds good. If you need help figuring out what to play, ask Logan and he can help!

3. The song is in A minor/C major. So all the white notes on the piano have great potential to sound joyful!

Audio submissions are due on
